Moorings

The club has its own marina at Moll d’Espanya, in the heart of Port Vell, just a short walk from Barceloneta, the Gothic Quarter, and La Rambla. It’s a very central location for keeping a boat in Barcelona.

Sports and Regattas

The RCNB has a very active sports program:

  • Regattas throughout the year.
  • Optimist fleet in training.
  • Inclusive sailing with the Hansa class.
  • J/70 class.
  • RCNB School for all ages.

Photos on its website show inclusive sailing boats with colorful sails against the city skyline, J/70s sailing in the wind, the club’s terrace at sunset with the masts in the background, and one-design regattas.

Social Life

The club publishes RCNB Magazine, organizes events, and has a restaurant, gym, and library for members. It is part of networks such as ICOYC (International Yacht Clubs), Biosphere Tourism, and Barcelona Sostenible.

The America’s Cup in Barcelona

Hosting the 37th America’s Cup placed the RCNB at the center of the global sailing scene. For the city, it brought significant international visibility and a boost to Barcelona’s sailing community, from which ports, boat shops, and sailing schools continue to benefit.

Tips

  • Check with the club regarding mooring availability and conditions for non-members.
  • If you’re interested in competing, ask about the J/70 and Optimist fleets.
  • Find out about inclusive sailing if you’re looking for adapted activities.
  • Book in advance during regatta weeks.

RCNB Sailing School

The club’s school offers courses for children, teens, and adults, ranging from beginner Optimist classes to competitive sailing. Sailing in Port Vell and out into Barcelona Bay is a well-rounded way to learn, with varied conditions and plenty of marine traffic that teaches you to sail with caution.

Port Vell

Port Vell is Barcelona’s historic harbor, now dedicated to leisure, sailing, and superyachts. Having your boat at the RCNB means having it right in the heart of it all: next to the Maremagnum, the Moll de la Fusta, and just a short walk from the old city. You exit to the open sea through the Port Vell channel, which has heavy passenger ship traffic, so it’s important to sail with caution.
