Acquatur - Centro de buceo PADI en Santander e Isla de Mouro

Acquatur is a PADI 5-Star Dive Center based at the Raos Marina (Camargo), 10 minutes from downtown Santander. It organizes introductory dives, boat dives around the bay and Mouro Island, and PADI Open Water and Advanced courses with online theory and practical dives. From October through April, it also organizes group diving trips around the world.

Introductory Dive in Santander

PADI Courses

As a PADI 5-Star Dive Center, Acquatur offers intensive courses:

• Open Water Diver (OWD): first international certification.
• Advanced Open Water: greater depth and new specialties.

The training combines online theory, pool and open-water practice, and experienced instructors.

Where to Dive

• Mouro Island: the iconic landmark of Santander Bay, with its lighthouse and rocky seabeds teeming with life.
• Cliffs and caves along the Cantabrian coast, featuring vertical walls and forests of seaweed.
• Boat dives from the port to each dive site.

The Cantabrian Sea offers an Atlantic diving experience: cool, nutrient-rich waters, home to wildlife such as conger eels, octopuses, nudibranchs, schools of fish, and large kelp.

Diving Trips

Outside the summer season, from October to April, Acquatur organizes group trips to diving destinations around the world. It’s the perfect way to keep diving in warm waters and put what you’ve learned in Santander into practice.

5. Return to port and time to discuss the experience.

Which option should you choose?

• You’ve never dived before: the Diving Experience, all-inclusive and with a discount if you go on to take the Open Water course.
• You want to get certified: the Open Water Diver course with online theory and dives in Santander.
• You’re already a diver and traveling without gear: dive with gear rental.
• You have your own gear: dive with your own gear—the most economical option.
• You’re looking for warm waters in winter: group trips from October through April.

Tips for Diving in Cantabria

1. 7 mm wetsuit or semi-dry suit: water temperatures range from about 12 °C in winter to 20–21 °C in late summer.
2. Check the swell: it affects dives at Mouro.
3. Bring a hood and gloves outside of summer.
4. Book early in July and August.
