Businesses at the Port
Alcudiamar is home to nautical shops, brokers, mechanics, blacksmiths, yacht agents, and other professionals. This means you can have painting, antifouling, mechanical repairs, electrical work, fiberglass repairs, sail making, or electronics done all in one place.
More Than Just a Dry Dock
- Dock spaces for boats of all sizes.
- Alcudiamar Marina Residence: accommodations for sailors within the resort.
- Sailing school (Alcudiamar Watersports by Wind Pirates): courses, introductory sailing lessons, paddleboarding, and kayaking.
- Restaurants and entertainment right on the waterfront.
Maintenance: The Basics
- At least one annual inspection, preferably before the season begins: hull, engine, electrical system, and safety.
- Preventive maintenance: hull, propulsion, electrical system, plumbing, anode replacement, and safety equipment.
- Out of the water, you can access the entire hull (painting, structural repairs). In the water, work is limited to the area above the waterline.
- Winter storage out of the water in Mallorca protects the hull and facilitates maintenance.
Suggested Schedule
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| Fall | Beach the boat, clean the hull, check anodes and propeller |
| Winter | Fiberglass, painting, and mechanical work with the boat on dry dock |
| Spring | Antifouling, general inspection, and launch |
(This is a general industry guide.)
Why Alcúdia?
Alcúdia Bay is one of the most sheltered in northern Mallorca, and the port is well-located for sailing to Pollença, Formentor, or Menorca. Having the dry dock in the same harbor where you moor saves you the hassle of transport.
What to Prepare Before Dry-Docking
- Boat dimensions (length, beam, draft) and approximate weight.
- Hull type and propulsion system (shaft, stern drive, saildrive).
- List of tasks: cleaning, antifouling, anodes, propeller, repairs.
- Haul-out and launch dates that work for you.
Tips
- Request a quote in advance using their form: provide the boat’s dimensions, hull type, and services needed.
- Schedule the hauling-out in the fall or spring, as these are the busiest times.
- If you plan to store the boat over the winter, ask about dry storage.
