Club founded in 1968 in Port d'Andratx, featuring boat slips, a dry dock, a sailing school, and regattas
The Puerto de Andratx Sailing Club is the yacht club of Port d'Andratx, on the southwestern tip of Mallorca. Founded in 1968, it has been offering docking spaces, dry storage, a sailing school, and regattas for over half a century in one of the island’s most sheltered and well-known bays, with the Tramuntana Mountains as a backdrop.
| Area | Services |
|---|---|
| Port | Berth and dry dock space reservations |
| School | Dinghy sailing, sea school, adaptive sailing |
| Sports | Canoeing, swimming, national and international regattas |
| Social | Restaurant with terrace, galas, parties, and competitions |
The club manages in-water moorings and dry dock spaces, which can be reserved directly through the office. Dry storage is a good option for small boats and RIBs used primarily during the season: the boat is on land, free from fouling and abrasion, and is launched when you’re ready to set out.
Port d’Andratx is a very sheltered natural harbor, which is why many boat owners choose it as a base for winter storage or as a stopover for exploring the west coast: the island of Sa Dragonera, Sant Elm, Cala Llamp, and the Costa de los Pinos are all within easy reach.
The school is one of the club’s hallmarks:
Photos on its website show families sailing in life jackets, groups of Optimist sailors racing, and kayakers training in the bay.
The club organizes national and international regattas throughout the year and offers an active social calendar: galas, parties, and competitions for all ages. Its restaurant, with a terrace overlooking the harbor, is a gathering place for members and visitors alike.
| Destination | Why Go |
|---|---|
| Sa Dragonera | Natural park across from Sant Elm |
| Cala Llamp | A cove open to the west, very close to the harbor |
| Tramuntana Coast | Cliffs and coves to the north |
| Bay of Palma | Port Adriano, Portals, and Palma to the east |
Call via VHF or the club’s phone number to confirm your berth and arrival time. Have your boat’s documentation and insurance handy, as the office usually requests them when finalizing your stay.
In the fall and winter, Port d’Andratx returns to its fishing village rhythm. It’s a great time to sail with fewer people around, train in the bay, or leave your boat in a sheltered spot while maintenance is being performed.
