Black Frog Divers is a 5-star PADI International Dive Center based in Torrox Costa, on the eastern coast of Málaga. It is run by Sara and Marcin, two highly experienced PADI instructors who have created a center with a family-friendly atmosphere where both beginners and advanced divers feel comfortable from the very start.

PADI Courses

Black Frog Divers offers PADI courses at all levels:

• Discover Scuba Diving (introductory dive): an introductory experience for those who have never dived before. It includes basic theory training, shallow-water practice, and a guided dive.
• Open Water Diver: the complete certification course that allows you to dive to a depth of 18 meters anywhere in the world.
• Advanced Open Water Diver: advanced training with specialty dives: deep, navigation, night, perfect buoyancy, and more.
• Rescue Diver: a course focused on safety and responding to underwater emergencies.
• Divemaster: PADI’s first professional level, for those who want to lead dives or work in the diving industry.
• Specialties: night diving, underwater navigation, deep diving, underwater photography, and more.

Guided Dives

For certified divers, the center organizes daily guided dives:

• From shore: dives at sites accessible from the shore in Torrox Costa and the surrounding area. Prices start at 35 euros.
• From a boat: trips on the center’s boat to more distant and spectacular dive sites. Prices start at 45 euros.
• Night dives: Dives at dusk to discover marine life that only appears at night. Prices start at 50 euros.

Snorkeling and Activities for Non-Divers

You don’t have to dive to enjoy the sea with Black Frog Divers. They organize guided snorkeling safaris through the best areas along the coast, with all equipment included. They also offer programs adapted for people with disabilities through the HSA (Handicapped Scuba Association) program.

Dive Sites

The center dives at some of the best spots along the Andalusian coast:

• Torrox Costa: rocky reefs teeming with marine life just a few minutes from the center.
• La Herradura: a sheltered bay with varied seabeds, ranging from rocky walls to Posidonia seagrass meadows.
• Almuñécar and Marina del Este: sites with excellent visibility and interesting rock formations.
• Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Park: a protected area with exceptional biodiversity.
• Calahonda: seabeds rich in marine life, especially nudibranchs and octopuses.
• Cabo de Gata: special excursions to the natural park, featuring some of the best seabeds in the Spanish Mediterranean.

They provide their own transportation to all dive sites, so divers don’t need a car.

Diving Conditions

Water temperatures on the Costa del Sol range from 14–18 °C in winter to 19–29 °C in summer. Visibility is usually good, especially from May through October, when it can exceed 15–20 meters. The center provides 5 mm and 7 mm wetsuits depending on the season.
