Blue Dive Menorca - Centro de buceo SSI en Addaia

Blue Dive Menorca (Blue Dive Experience) is an SSI dive center located in the port of Addaia (Es Mercadal), on the northern coast of Menorca. Dive in the Northern Menorca Marine Reserve, between Addaia and Cala Macaret and next to the s'Albufera des Grau Natural Park. It offers introductory dives, guided dives, SSI courses, snorkeling, and private boat trips, and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..

The Boat

It has a boat that is 11 meters long and 3.6 meters wide, with two engines, accommodating up to 12 people. It reaches the northern dive sites quickly, and there’s plenty of room for gear.

The star attraction of Menorca is El Queso Suizo, a cave suitable for Open Water divers and very photogenic.

Activities

• Introductory Dive (Discover Scuba Diving): a fun and relaxed first experience.
• Guided dives in the marine reserve, in groups of up to 12.
• Snorkeling / taxi boat: about 2 hours, to sites on the north coast that can only be reached by boat. Includes guide, full gear (mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuit), transportation, and a children’s BCD if needed. €45 per person.
• VIP trips with exclusive use of the boat.

A 30% deposit is required to reserve a course.

Equipment Included

Wetsuit, fins, mask, tank, weights, regulator, and BCD. The equipment is Scubapro and is regularly inspected.

When to Dive in Northern Menorca

The best time is from May to October, with water temperatures between 20 and 26 °C and excellent visibility. The north coast is rougher and rockier than the south, with caves, walls, and plenty of marine life thanks to the protection of the marine reserve. When the tramontana (north wind) blows, sea conditions become challenging: the dive center chooses the dive site each day based on the weather.

Tips

• Book in advance in August, as the boat carries a maximum of 12 people.
• If you have your Open Water certification, the “Queso Suizo” is an easy and spectacular cave.
• For the 30-meter walls, it’s best to have your Advanced certification.
• Bring your certification, logbook, and dive insurance.
