A complete haul-out covers lifting the boat (travel lift, crane or trailer), pressure washing the hull, chocking it on the hard and relaunching when the work is done. On top of that come the days on the hard and any work: antifouling, anodes, propeller, shafts, through-hulls or fiberglass.
Some yards in Cartagena and the Mar Menor let owners work on their own boats; others only allow their staff or approved contractors. Check before you book.
Compare lifting capacity (tonnes and maximum beam), the price per metre for the lift and for each day on the hard, whether there is water and power in the yard, and available dates: yards fill up in spring.
Ask for an itemised quote and use the haul-out to do everything that needs the boat out of the water; every extra lift costs money.
A full haul-out (lift, wash and relaunch) ranges roughly from €120 for small boats to more than €2,300 for boats of about 20 metres. Days on the hard and work are charged separately.
Normally every 12 to 24 months to clean the hull, renew the antifouling and change anodes. In very warm water or if the boat sits idle for long periods, it may be needed every year.
A travel lift raises the boat in slings and moves it around the yard; it is standard for sailing yachts and mid-size boats. Cranes are mostly used for small boats or in marinas without a travel lift.
It depends on the yard. Some allow owner work under environmental rules; others only work with their own staff. Ask when booking.
Appear on this page and on the Nautify map. It is free and commission-free: boat owners contact you directly.
